Research Progress on Seasonal"Grazing-Supplementation"Models for Livestock across Different Grassland Types

Abstract
Grazing is the primary livestock management system in pastoral regions of China;however,due to seasonal shifts and differences among grassland types,forage resources exhibit pronounced spatial and temporal heterogeneity,resulting in unstable nutrient supply for livestock.In practical applications,the"grazing-supplementation"system faces key challenges,including suboptimal allocation of supplementary feeding resources and insufficient standardization of technical practices.Therefore,it is urgent to develop differentiated supplementation strategies tailored to various grassland types.Scientifically designed supplementation can significantly enhance livestock production performance,mitigate grassland degradation,reduce greenhouse gas emissions,and play an important role in achieving livestock reduction and efficiency improvement in pastoral areas.This review summarizes the effects of the"grazing-supplementation"model across different grassland types under cold-warm seasonal transitions on livestock growth efficiency and the ecological environment,aiming to provide a theoretical basis for optimizing supplementation strategies in pastoral regions.关键词
