Effects of Carbon Dioxide Aqueous Solution on Cucumbers,Eggplants,and Tomatoes Under Mulched Drip Irrigation

Abstract
Exploring the effects of drip application of CO2 enriched water solution on vegetable growth,yield,and quality in subsurface drip irrigation systems,this study aims to provide insights for improving production efficiency.Using eggplant,cucumber,and tomato as test ob-jects in open-field cultivation,CO2-enriched water irrigation was compared with conventional well-water irrigation.Results demonstrated that CO2 application significantly enhanced chlorophyll content,plant height,stem diameter,single fruit weight,and total yield while promoting root growth.Regarding fruit quality:cucumber exhibited increased protein,calcium,potassium,and vitamin C content;eggplant showed higher soluble sugar and amino acid levels;and tomato displayed elevated magnesium,amino acid,and total acid content.However,certain quality parameters declined:cucumber's soluble sugar,eggplant's vitamin C and iron content,and tomato's soluble sugar and vitamin C lev-els.In conclusion,CO2-enriched water irrigation positively impacts vegetable growth,yield,and most quality attributes,but further optimiza-tion of CO2 concentration and application strategies is required to achieve comprehensive quality enhancement.关键词
