Discussion on the design of LZ mechanical continuous whipstock

Abstract
The mechanical continuous whipstock used for small-diameter directional drilling has not been optimized and upgraded after its development and finalization.This paper systematically analyzes and discusses this situation,mainly introduces the basic structure and working principle of LZ mechanical continuous whipstock,analyzes its static characteristics,describes the pressure transfer route and displacement change of continuous whipstock,calculated theoretically the lateral whipstock force and clamping force,and analyzes their influencing factors.According to the structural characteristics of continuous whipstock,authors propose the design flow of cylindrical helical compression spring as key parts,discuss the structural forms of clutch,the connection between slide block and upper/lower half wedges,and extension limit of slide block,and put forward the optimization direction.During working of mechanical continuous whipstock,the weight of bit(WOB)must be greater than the sum of designed maximum working load of working spring and return spring,so that return spring is always in the maximum compression stroke,the clamping force and side whipstock force will not raise as the weight of bit increase within specified parameter range.关键词
