果穗干燥脱水方式对玉米杂交种种子活力的影响
Effects of Ear Drying and Dehydration Methods on Seed Vigor of Maize Hybrids

Abstract
To investigate the effect of different ear drying and dehydration methods on the seed vigor of maize hybrids,so as to provide a scientific basis for selecting drying and dehydration methods for maize seeds as well as technical support for the industrialized production of maize seed in the Hexi region,maize hybrids,Jinboshi 813,Dedan 123,and Bixiang 101,were used as experimental materials.After ear treatment by mechanical drying and natural air-drying,seed vigor was evaluated under 4 germination conditions,i.e.,standard germination,low-temperature germination,artificial aging germination,and low-temperature cold-soaking germination.Results showed that,after natural air-drying,the seed specific gravity of Jinboshi 813,Dedan 123,and Bixiang 101 was higher than that with mechanical drying,while bulk density and thousand-kernel weight were lower than those under mechanical drying.No significant differences were detected in seed cell membrane integrity among the 3 hybrids under natural air-drying treatment.Under standard germination conditions,seed vigor of mechanically dried Jinboshi 813 and Dedan 123 was extremely significantly higher than that of naturally air-dried seeds(P<0.01),whereas naturally air-dried Bixiang 101 showed extremely significantly higher seed vigor than mechanically dried seeds(P<0.01).Under low-temperature germination conditions,seed vigor of all 3 hybrids under mechanical drying was extremely significantly higher than that under natural air-drying(P<0.01).Under artificial aging germination conditions,seed vigor of mechanically dried Jinboshi 813 was higher than that of naturally air-dried seeds,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05),while naturally air-dried Dedan 123 and Bixiang 101 showed extremely significantly higher seed vigor than mechanically dried seeds(P<0.01).Under low-temperature cold-soaking germination conditions,seed vigor of mechanically dried Jinboshi 813,Dedan 123,and Bixiang 101 was extremely significantly higher than that of naturally air-dried seeds(P<0.01).Overall,although mechanical drying and dehydration generally resulted in higher seed vigor than natural air-drying,the choice of ear drying and dehydration method in production practices should be determined by comprehensively consideration of storability,human factors,cultivation conditions of commercial production bases,and seed production and marketing modes.关键词
