Comparative Analysis of the Economics and Carbon Reduction Benefits of Superconducting Cables with Different Structures

Abstract
To compare the economic benefits of the superconducting cables with different structures and operating parameters,this paper takes the 35 kV three-phase turnkey superconducting cables in Shanghai and the 10 kV three-phase homo-axial superconducting cables in Shenzhen as the objects for study.Firstly,it uses the normalization method to calculate and analyze the economy of equal transmission capacity of two superconducting cables.Then,the carbon emission reduction benefits of two superconducting cables are compared and analyzed in different application scenarios.Finally,the socio-economic model of the superconducting cables per unit transmission capacity is constructed by taking the economy and carbon emission reduction benefits into consideration.The results show that the operating cost of the three-phase homo-axial superconducting cables under equal transmission capacity is about 2.2 times of that of three-phase turnkey superconducting cables,but at the same time,its carbon emission reduction benefit is about 6~9 times of that of three-phase turnkey superconducting cables.In terms of application scenarios,three-phase turnkey superconducting cables are suitable for power cable upgrading scenarios,while three-phase homo-axial superconducting cables are more suitable for overhead line upgrading scenarios.关键词
