Review of indicator systems for building safety risks assessment using spaceborne InSAR technology

Abstract
Against the backdrop of the transition in China's urban building sector from a"construction-focused"approach to"equal emphasis on construction and maintenance",and further toward"large-scale operation and maintenance",spaceborne interferometric synthetic aperture radar(InSAR)technology has opened a new pathway for the full-lifecycle maintenance and management of the vast existing building stock.Spaceborne InSAR offers advantages such as large-scale,high-precision,sustainable,and non-contact deformation monitoring.However,accurately assessing structural safety conditions based on deformation data remains crucial.To reveal the relationship between building deformation and structural damage mechanisms,existing building safety assessment indicators and threshold systems have been systematically reviewed.Key achievements include:summarizing the evolution of commonly used InSAR technologies and their feasibility in multi-scale building deformation monitoring;systematically analyzing the origins and development of threshold systems for building safety assessment in structural engineering,as well as differences in relevant international and domestic codes;and synthesizing the current state of research on spaceborne InSAR in building risk assessment,while discussing key issues in aligning the technology with engineering inspection and monitoring standards.Research shows that the integration and application of spaceborne InSAR in large-scale wide-area urban building screening hold broad prospects.However,significant variations in the selection of risk assessment indicators and threshold settings across studies hinder its widespread adoption.In light of this,establishing a unified,reusable,and operable threshold system for building risk assessment is of great importance for developing regular and intelligent inspection mechanisms for urban buildings in the future.关键词
