摘要

Abstract

The exhaust system not only reduces pollutants and noise generated by automobiles but also enhances airflow dynamics through pipe adjustments,thereby improving vehicle performance.As the foundation for producing exhaust systems,the performance of molds directly affects the quality of system castings.This study investigates the heat treatment process of molds to modify their surface properties.First,molds for the catalytic converter,bellows,and muffler were designed individually and modeled using UG software through mesh division to complete the exhaust system mold.Subsequently,the heat treatment of the combined mold was completed by determining quenching and tempering temperatures,calculating holding times,and conducting quality testing and post-treatment.The results indicate that when the preheating temperature is 800-830℃,the quenching temperature is 960-1000℃,the first tempering temperature is 600℃,and the second tempering temperature is 560℃,the molds exhibit optimal hardness and corrosion resistance.
