摘要

Abstract

Based on panel data from 30 provinces and 2 721 counties in China from 2003 to 2023,this paper systematically examines the influence of transport infrastructure on economic resilience in inter-provincial adjacent areas and its action mechanisms.The findings reveal that:①The enhancement of transport infrastructure significantly strengthens the economic resilience in inter-provincial adjacent areas.This core conclusion remains valid after a series of robustness tests and endogeneity treatments.Furthermore,innovation-driven development and industrial structure upgrading are identified as the specific mechanisms through which transport infrastructure bolsters economic resilience.②The impact of transport infrastructure on economical resilience exhibits notable heterogeneity.Its positive effect on economic resilience is more pronounced in provinces with flatter terrain,innovation-driven development models,and higher economic development levels.③Improved transport infrastructure induces economic spillover effects from developed provinces.The economic resilience of counties bordering developed provinces has significantly improved,and the economic resilience gap between regions on both sides of provincial administrative boundaries has narrowed.This paper provides important theoretical basis and policy implications for enhancing the resilience of adjacent areas and promoting coordinated regional development through strengthening transportation connectivity.
