Medication rules of Professor Liu Xiaofan,a famous pediatrician in Sichuan Province,in treating infantile rhinitis based on data mining

Abstract
Objective Analyzing and summarizing the medication rules of Professor Liu Xiaofan,a famous Pediatric TCM physician in Sichuan Province,for treating infantile rhinitis using date mining techniques.Methods A total of 150 pediatric patients with rhinits treated by Professor Liu in outpatient clinics between February 2023 and October 2024 were enrolled.A database was established using Excel 2010,and analyses were conducted on herb frequency,four properties and five flavors,meridian tropism,use of toxic herbs,and herb combination association rules within the prescriptions.Results A total of 150 prescriptions involving 110 Chinese medicinal herbs were analyzed.The 11 most frequently used herbs were Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma,Angelicae Dahuricae Radix,Prunellae Spica,Ligusticum Rhizoma,Magnoliae Flos,Gardeniae Fructus,Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium Viride,Chuanxiong Rhizoma(wine-processed),Platycodi Radix,Raphani Semen(stir-fried),and Peucedani Radix.Herbal properties were primarily warm and cold,with flavors mainly being sour,pungent,and salty.The meridians most commonly targeted were the liver,stomach,lung,and spleen.Analysis revealed 25 pairs of two-herb combinations,67 three-herb combinations,and 78 four-herb combinations with significant association rules.Conclusion Professor Liu's treatment of infantile rhinitis emphasizes the combination of cold and warm herbs,with a focus on sour and pungent flavors.He advocates integrated treatment of nose and lungs,often using his self-formulated prescription,Shangke Mixture 3,as a foundational therapy with modifications based on presentation.关键词
