Exploring the historical origin and academic ideology of the Beijing Liu's school of bone-setting

Abstract
Established over 60 years ago,the Beijing Liu's bone-setting school has developed a distinctive academic system and clinical techniques through extensive practice.Its founder,Liu Shoushan,emphasized a holistic concept,advocated for the combination of the five diagnostic methods and simultaneous treatment of tendons,bones,Qi and blood.He stressed treatment based on pattern identification,staged intervention and individualized treatment.In therapy,great importance was attached to Tuina manipulation,requiring heart-hand correspondence during operations.He also summarized four core treatment principles:Manipulation,empirical formulas,immobilization,and functional exercise.The theories and techniques are now widely applied in clinical practice with remarkable efficacy,exerting profound influence in the field of traditional Chinese medicine traumatology in Beijing and across China.This study elaborates on the school's heritage,academic ideas,and diagnostic-therapeutic techniques,aiming to provide diagnostic and therapeutic insights for clinical management of orthopedic disorders.关键词
