Abstract
Objective:To explore the effect of adjuvant therapy with Qingkailing granule on clinical symptoms and sleep quality in elderly patients with bacterial acute upper respiratory tract infection(AURI).Methods:A total of 60 elderly patients with bacteri-al acute upper respiratory infection treated in the affiliated hospital of Jiangsu University were enrolled between January and De-cember 2024.According to random number table, the patients were divided into the observation group and the control group with 30 cases in each group. The time of clinical symptoms relieving, inflammatory markers,Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)scores, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The time to defervescence, days of cough, and time to pharyngeal erythema disappearing in observation group were shorter than those in control group(all P<0.05).After the treatment, levels of white blood cell count(WBC)and C-reactive protein(CRP)were decreased in both groups,The re-duction was observed more dramatically in the observation group compared to the control group(both P<0.05).PSQI scores were decreased in both groups after the treatment, which were lower in observation group(all P<0.05).There was no statistical differ-ence in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.999).Conclusion:Adjuvant therapy with Qingkailing granules can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms and significantly improve sleep quality in elderly patients with bacterial acute upper respiratory infection.关键词
