Effects of Mitochondrial Metabolism on Heart Failure and Research Progress of Traditional Chinese Medicine Intervention

Abstract
Heart failure is a severe clinical syndrome that typically arises from various heart diseases and constitutes the final stage of most cardiovascular diseases.The onset of heart failure is closely related to abnormal energy metabolism in cardiomyocytes,and mitochondria,as an important organelle,serve as the primary energy source of cardiomyocytes.Consequently,the regulation of mito-chondrial metabolism is of great significance for the prevention and treatment of heart failure.Currently,it is widely recognized that the pathological state of heart failure resembles the myocardial alterations caused by mitochondrial metabolic disorders.Multiple as-pects of mitochondrial activity are implicated in the occurrence and progression of HF,including mitochondrial dynamics,calcium homeostasis,oxidative stress and inflammatory responses,autophagy-mediated apoptosis,and mitochondrial-associated endoplasmic reticulum membranes(MAMs).Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)offers diverse approaches to modulating mitochondrial metabo-lism through single herbs,isolated active components,or effective ingredients,as well as through TCM compound preparations and patent medicines.These interventions operate via multi-component,multi-target,and multi-pathway mechanisms,ultimately impro-ving cardiac function and aiding in the prevention and treatment of heart failure.关键词
