Abstract

To promote the development and utilization of Tamarix plant resources,this study conduc-ted a cutting propagation experiment in the Yulin sandy area,selecting 10 species including Tamarix chinensis,T.elongata,and T.ramosissima as materials.The survival rate,height growth,and di-ameter growth characteristics were observed and analyzed.The results showed significant differences in the survival rates among the species:six species—T.austromongolica(69.10%),T.chinensis(56.13%),T.elongata(51.88%),T.ramosissima(56.25%),T.leptostachys(59.69%),and T.hispida—achieved survival rates exceeding 50%,while four other species,such as T.gansuensis and T.arceuthoides,had survival rates of only about 30%.The optimal period for cutting propagation in the Yulin sandy area was from late April to early May.The height growth(65.19-122.82 cm)and diameter growth(6.20-8.73 mm)of all 10 species exhibited significant linear relationships with growth time,with peak net growth observed in July.Among them,T.austromongolica,T.ramosis-sima,T.leptostachys,and T.hispida demonstrated the best overall performance—high survival rates and rapid growth—making them suitable as germplasm resources for local seedling propagation.This approach enables seedling cultivation and planting within the same year,providing support for ecological construction in the Yulin sandy area.
