Changes in the Northern Expedition and Inter-party Interaction:A Re-examination of the Preparatory Process for the Fifth National Congress of the CPC

Abstract
During the Great Revolution,the CPC continuously promoted the preparatory process for its Fifth National Congress in the complex and ever-changing domestic political situation and evolving revolutionary camp,which was quite tortuous.The motion to convene the Fifth National Congress was not only driven by the surge of mass movements and the urgent need for organization-al development,but also deeply influenced by the progress of the Northern Expedition and the re-peated changes in relations between the Kuomintang,the CPC,and the Comintern.Despite the twists and turns in the preparatory process,the CPC managed to advance the preparations by ac-tively adapting to the situation and easing the relationship between the CPC and the Kuomintang.The efforts of the CPC in preparing for the Fifth National Congress not only deepened its under-standing of the relationship between"domestic revolutionary demands"and"external revolutionary guidance",but also became a vivid portrayal of the CPC's own revolutionary experience accumula-tion during the Great Revolution.关键词
