Where Does the Land Come From:Land Readjustment in the Rectification of Land Reform Deviations in the Old Liberated Areas During the Liberation War

Abstract
Correcting the"leftist"bias of land reform by means of voluntary contributions in the old liberated areas of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region,which infringes on the interests of middle peasants,is an institutional adjustment to implement the principle of meeting the land re-quirements of poor and hired peasants and uniting middle peasants in the December Conference.From the perspective of national-social interaction,with the help of county-level land reform ar-chives and other materials,this paper explores the strategies of grassroots governments in raising and adjusting land in land reform,and summarizes their basic experience.In the process of land reform,the CPC mobilized the middle peasants to voluntarily donate some of their surplus land by promoting the class sentiment of"all farmers in China are one family",improving the political status of the middle peasants,and compensating them from the fruits of their struggle,thus completing the task of land compensation and adjustment relatively well.In the rectification of land reform,grassroots gov-ernments and local cadres in the old liberated areas have comprehensively used two mobilization strategies:revolutionary narrative and local narrative,cleverly resolving the institutional tension within rural farmers and achieving political legitimacy and social stability in land redistribution.关键词
