Abstract

Due to the complexity of its fault characteristics,the integration of inverter-interfaced distributed generator(IIDG)into the distribution network can make the traditional short-circuit current calculation method no longer applicable in terms of calculation principles.In allusion to high dependency on initial value selection and poor convergence caused by inappropriate initial values in existing methods,a method of novel short-circuit current calculation for distribution networks with IIDG based on the beluga whale optimization(BWO)algorithm is proposed.An equivalent model of IIDG and its distribution network,incorporating low-voltage ride-through(LVRT)control strategies,is established.On this basis,a real and imaginary component equations of node voltages are derived,and a fitness function is constructed to transform the short-circuit current calculation into the function optimization.The BWO algorithm with strong global search capabilities is used to solve for node voltages and short-circuit currents in the network.The accuracy and convergence of proposed method are validated by comparing Matlab-implemented results with simulation results.The results indicate that the maximum relative error of the positive-sequence component of fault voltage amplitude at each node is 0.498%,and the maximum relative error of the negative-sequence component is 0.903%.The maximum relative error of the positive-sequence component of short-circuit current amplitude at each branch is 0.751%,and the maximum relative error of the negative-sequence component is 1.166%.The above results verify that the proposed calculation method has high accuracy and feasibility when an asymmetric fault occurs in the distribution network.
