Differences in Organic Acid Composition of Fruits from Different Pollination Combinations of Korla Fragrant Pear

Abstract

In order to analyze the composition and content characteristics of organic acids in the fruits of differ-ent pollination combinations of Korla fragrant pear,the effects of four pollination combinations on the accumula-tion of organic acids in the fruits of Korla fragrant pear×Dangshansu pear(K×D),Korla fragrant pear×Yali pear(K×Y),natural pollination(ZR,CK1)and self-pollination(ZJ,CK2)were investigated.Organic acid com-ponents and contents in fruits of Korla fragrant pear under different pollination combinations were determined and analyzed using Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography(UPLC).Except for the pollination combination of Korla fragrant pear×Dangshansuli,the fruit organic acid content in all other pollination combinations exhibited an initial increase followed by a decrease.A total of 41 organic acid components were detected,with L-malic acid content exceeding that of other organic acids and accounting for 97%of the total organic acids.The total num-bers of differential metabolites across the periods were 21,15,16,16,and 44,respectively.Each pollination com-bination contained 1-2 unique organic acids,with no overlap among the distinct differential metabolites.The number of genes enriched in KEGG pathways varied significantly across the periods,with counts of 100,36,16,99,and 205 respectively.In conclusion,using Dangshansuli to pollinate Korla fragrant pear reduces fruit organic acid content,whereas Yali increases it.Korla fragrant pear is predominantly characterized by malic acid.No com-mon differential metabolites were detected across all periods.The differential metabolites were primarily enriched in metabolic pathways,biosynthesis of phenylpropanoids,degradation of aromatic compounds,and biosynthesis of secondary metabolites.
