Abstract

In order to reveal the correlation between the temperature characteristics of asphalt core walls and the quality of interface bonds,providing a theoretical basis for construction quality control of asphalt core walls in alpine regions.Based on field measurement data from the Xinjiang Kurgan Water Control Project,the tempera-ture variation patterns of asphalt concrete core walls and influencing factors on the formation temperature of inter-face layers were analyzed.The bond quality was evaluated through tensile strength,flexural strength,and perme-ability coefficient tests.The temperature variation of the asphalt core wall follows a third-order exponential decay function.Within one week after paving,the temperature remains above the asphalt softening point,triggering a'pinecone effect'.The interface layer temperature is influenced by both ambient temperature and the temperature of the underlying hot material.The maximum formation temperature is 112.5℃in summer and 95.8℃in win-ter,with the central area being 15.00%-20.00%warmer than the outer regions.The tensile strength and flex-ural strength of the interface decreased by 1.75%-6.14%and 4.43%-8.23%(P<0.05),respectively,com-pared to the parent material,while the permeability coefficient increased by 68.00%-659.00%(P<0.05).In conclution,the current surface temperature control standards require improvement,and a multi-parameter con-struction control system based on the spatiotemporal distribution of the internal temperature field should be estab-lished.The research results provide theoretical support for the construction quality control of asphalt core wall in alpine region.
