A Study on the Internal Migration of Wuhan's Mechanical Cotton Textile Industry During the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War

Abstract
During the early stage of the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War,under the leadership of the National Government,most mechanical cotton textile enterprises in Wuhan were relocated to the Sichuan and Shaanxi area within the area under KMT rule during the War of Resistance Against Japan,making outstanding contributions to wartime military and civilian needs.As a vital component of factory internal migration during the Comprehensive Anti-Japanese War,the process of the internal migration of Wuhan's mechanical cotton textile industry encountered numerous challenges.From the passive resistance of textile mills during the initial internal migration phase to multiple changes in internal migration destinations,and further to the arduous obstacles during transportation,each textile mill presented a complex historical narrative throughout the migration.In this process,while the National Government utilized coercive measures to facilitate the internal migration of most Wuhan textile mills,the absence of effective organizational and coordination mechanisms caused these enterprises to suffer additional losses beyond war damage,which objectively increased the migration costs of Wuhan's mechanical cotton textile industry.关键词
