Research progress on the role of cyclic guanosine monophosphate-adenosine monophosphate synthase-stimulator of interferon genes pathway in eye diseases
摘要
Abstract
Pathogen infection and non-pathogenic factors can trigger immune responses,leading to eye inflammation.The cyclic guanosine monophosphate-adenosine monophosphate synthase(cGAS)-stimulator of interferon genes(STING)pathway is a recently discovered inflammatory signaling pathway that recognizes double-stranded DNA as an activation sig-nal to promote the expression of downstream cytokines in inflammatory or autoimmune responses.More and more evidence has shown that the cGAS-STING signaling pathway plays a key role in mediating ocular inflammation and inflammatory dis-eases,including dry eye,keratitis,uveitis,glaucoma,diabetic retinopathy,and age-related macular degeneration.This article reviews the research on the role of the cGAS-STING pathway in eye diseases,in order to provide guidance for the pathogen-esis and molecular targets of eye diseases.关键词
