摘要

Abstract

Based on Tu Yong Mu Yu theory to explore the mechanism of action of the stress-induced protein 2(Sestrin2),Kelch-like ECH-associated protein 1(Keap1),and nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(Nrf2)signa-ling pathways in obese type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Endoplasmic reticulum stress(ERS)is a key pathological link connecting obesity and T2DM,while the Sestrin2/Keap1/Nrf2(reticulum stress,ERS)is a key pathological link connecting obesity,and T2DM.The Sestrin2/Keap1/Nrf2 pathway activates antioxidant stress,improves ERS and lipid metabolism disorders,restores pancreatic β-cell function,and alleviates insulin resistance(IR).The"Tu Yong Mu Yu"theory aligns closely with the modern medical mechanisms of ERS.Methods such as strengthening the spleen and re-moving dampness,and regulating the liver and clearing turbidity may upregulate Sestrin2 expression,inhibit Keap1 ac-tivity,activate the Nrf2 nuclear transcription factor,alleviate ERS-induced IR,and delay the progression of T2DM.This study provides a theoretical basis for traditional Chinese medicine to regulate the Sestrin2/Keap1/Nrf2 pathway to im-prove obese T2DM.
