Abstract
New-type agricultural and forestry talents form the cornerstone for advancing China's agricultural and rural modernization.Nationwide,agricultural and forestry universities have steadfastly upheld the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education.By building high-caliber faculty teams and refining high-quality curriculum systems,these institutions have consolidated their existing strengths in specialized education while actively enhancing general education.This comprehensive approach to elevating institutional capabilities has laid a solid foundation for cultivating new-type agricultural and forestry talents suited to the demands of the new era.After decades of development,China's higher education system has matured significantly in specialized education,yielding remarkable achievements in supporting national modernization.Concurrently,general education has evolved from conceptual introduction to localized implementation,becoming an indispensable component of undergraduate education.Nevertheless,persistent shortcomings in positioning,understanding among faculty and students,and institutional framework development continue to hinder its full educational potential.To meet the objectives of the Emerging Agricultural Education initiative,agricultural and forestry universities must deepen reforms in specialized liberal arts education.By delivering systematic,distinctive,and high-quality liberal arts programs,they can support the modernization of agriculture and rural areas,explore development pathways with Chinese characteristics,and contribute Chinese experience to global liberal arts education reform.关键词
