乌梅丸加味方治疗中重度特发性眼睑痉挛的疗效观察
Clinical Observation on the Efficacy of Modified Wumei Pill in Treating Moderate to Severe Benign Essential Blepharospasm

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To observe the clinical efficacy of modified Wumei Pill in treating moderate to benign essential blepharospasm(BEB)of liver Yang deficiency syndrome.METHODS A total of 40 patients(80 eyes)with moderate to severe BEB diagnosed at the Eye Hospital of the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences from July 2021 to December 2023,classified as liver Yang deficiency syndrome,were randomly divided into a trial group and a control group,with 20 patients(40 eyes)in each group.The trial group received oral modified Wumei Pill granules,while the control group received periorbital injections of botulinum toxin type A(BTX-A).The Jankovic Rating Scale(JRS)scores,Blepharospasm Disability Index(BSDI)scores,and Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)symptom scores were assessed before treatment and at 2 weeks,6 weeks,3 months,and 6 months after treatment.RESULTS(1)JRS scores:Comparison of JRS scores between the two groups before and after treatment showed significant differences in time effect,group effect,and time-group interaction effect(P＜0.05).In the trial group,JRS scores at all post-treatment time points were lower than before treatment.In the control group,JRS scores at 2 weeks,6 weeks,and 3 months post-treatment were lower than before treatment,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05),but no significant difference was observed at 6 months post-treatment(P>0.05).Between-group comparison showed that the trial group had lower JRS scores at 3 months and 6 months post-treatment than the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05),while no significant differences were observed at 2 weeks and 6 weeks post-treatment(P>0.05).(2)BSDI scores:Comparison of BSDI scores between the two groups before and after treatment showed significant differences in time effect,group effect,and time-group interaction effect(P＜0.05).In the trial group,BSDI scores at 2 weeks post-treatment showed no significant difference compared to baseline(P>0.05),while BSDI scores at 6 weeks,3 months,and 6 months post-treatment were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.05).In the control group,BSDI scores at 2 weeks,6 weeks,and 3 months post-treatment were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.05),but no significant difference was observed at 6 months post-treatment(P>0.05).Between-group comparison showed that the trial group had lower BSDI scores at 3 months and 6 months post-treatment than the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05),while no significant differences were observed at 2 weeks and 6 weeks post-treatment(P>0.05).(3)TCM symptom scores:Comparison of TCM symptom scores between the two groups before and after treatment showed significant differences in time effect,group effect,and time-group interaction effect(P＜0.05).In the trial group,TCM symptom scores at all post-treatment time points were significantly lower than before treatment.In the control group,TCM symptom scores at 2 weeks and 6 weeks post-treatment were significantly lower than before treatment(P<0.05),but no significant differences were observed at 3 months and 6 months post-treatment(P>0.05).Between-group comparison showed that the trial group had lower TCM symptom scores at 6 weeks,3 months,and 6 months post-treatment than the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05),while no significant difference was observed at 2 weeks post-treatment(P>0.05).(4)Adverse reactions:No adverse reactions occurred in either group during the observation period.CONCLUSIONS Modified Wumei Pill demonstrates significant and long-lasting efficacy in treating BEB of liver Yang deficiency syndrome,making it worthy of clinical promotion.关键词
