Abstract
OBJECTIVE To summarize and analyze the application patterns of bloodletting therapy for ocular diseases as recorded in classical Chinese medical literature.METHODS Electronic searches were conducted in the Zhonghua Yidian(Chinese Medical Classics)database for classical literature involving bloodletting therapy for ocular diseases.Retrieved entries were imported into an Excel database, and those relevant to ocular disease treatment were manually screened according to inclusion and exclusion criteria.Data extracted included source, original text,disease/symptom name, acupoint name, meridian affiliation, specific acupoint attributes, and anatomical location.Descriptive statistical analysis was performed.RESULTS(1)General overview:A total of 76 classical texts were identified, with 270 relevant records covering 27 disease types.(2)Disease spectrum:Ranked by frequency as follows:disorders of the bulbar conjunctiva(124 times,45.93%),eyelid disorders(90 times,33.33%),pupil and inner eye disorders(40 times,14.81%),corneal disorders(4 times,1.48%),ocular trauma(4 times,1.48%).Among these, eyelid disorders had the highest number of distinct disease types(8 cases,27.59%),including trichiasis, blepharitis, hordeolum, palpebral wind nodules, palpebral bacterial infection, ectropion with conjunctival adhesion, eyelid tumors, and inability to open the eyes.(3)Acupoint analysis:A total of 37 acupoints were used, with 269 mentions. The five most frequently used were Baihui(GV20,32 times,11.89%),Taiyang(Ex-HN5,31 times,11.52%),Neiyingxiang(Ex-HN9,27 times,10.04%),Shangxing(GV23,25 times,9.29%),and Cuanzhu(BL2,21 times,7.81%).(4)Meridian analysis:By meridian affiliation, the top five were the Governing Vessel(107 times,39.78%),extra points outside the fourteen regular meridians(69 times,25.65%),Foot Taiyang Bladder Channel(42 times,15.61%),Hand Taiyin Lung Channel(11 times,4.09%),and Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder Channel(10 times,3.72%).The Governing Vessel had the highest number of points(7 times in total),including Baihui(GV20),Shangxing(GV23),Qianding(GV21),Shenting(GV24),Xinhui(GV22),Naohu(GV17),and Yintang(M-HN-3).CONCLUSIONS Classical literature demonstrates extensive use of bloodletting therapy for ocular diseases, with a preference for acupoints along the Governing Vessel on the head, extra points around the eyes, and points on the Bladder Channel. For distal point selection,Baxie(Ex-UE9)and Weizhong(BL40)were frequently employed.关键词
