Abstract
Objective To investigate the impact of case imitation combined with problem-based teaching on the self-efficacy and critical thinking of junior psychiatric nurses.Methods Fifty-two junior psychiatric nurses from Shenzhen Kangning Hospital who were trained from January to December 2023 were selected as the control group and received routine teaching training.Forty-eight junior psychiatric nurses from the same hospital who were trained from January to December 2024 were selected as the observation group and received training incorporating case imitation combined with problem-based teaching.The nursing competency assessment scores,self-efficacy,critical thinking,and teaching satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Results After 3 months of intervention,the observation group showed higher scores than the control group on theoretical knowledge,practical operation performance,and General Self-Efficacy Scale(P<0.05),with both groups demonstrating improvements compared with their pre-intervention scores(P<0.05).After 3 months of intervention,the scores on all dimensions of the Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory-Chinese version increased in both groups compared with pre-intervention levels.Furthermore,the observation group scored higher than the control group in the dimensions of inquisitiveness,open-mindedness,confidence in critical thinking,and systematization capability(P<0.05).After 3 months of intervention,the observation group exhibited lower incidences of nurse injuries,harm to others,and property damage than the control group,while their capabilities in delivering humanistic care,communication,emergency response,and teamwork were superior to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of case imitation combined with problem-based teaching can improve nursing capabilities,self-efficacy,and critical thinking of junior psychiatric nurses,reduce the incidence of harm during violent incident management,and enhance teaching satisfaction.关键词
