Effects of Opposing Needling Combined with Shoulder Three-Needle Acupuncture on Pain and Inflammatory Levels in Patients with Frozen Shoulder of Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis Type

Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effects of opposing needling combined with shoulder three-needle acupuncture on pain and inflammatory levels in patients with frozen shoulder of Qi stagnation and blood stasis type.Methods:A total of 72 patients with frozen shoulder of Qi stagnation and blood stasis type were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group,with 36 patients in each group.The control group was treated with shoulder three-needle acupuncture;on which basis,the observation group was also treated with opposing needling.Clinical efficacy,scores of VAS and Constant-Murley,levels of IL-6 and TNF-α,range of motion of shoulder,and safety were evaluated after the treatment in the two groups.Results:The clinical effective rate was 97.22％(35/36)in the observation group,which was significantly higher than 77.78％(28/36)in the control group(P＜0.05).Both groups showed a decrease in VAS score and an increase in Constant-Murley score,with the observation group demonstrating greater improvements(P＜0.05).The levels of IL-6 and TNF-α decreased in both groups,with the observation group showing lower levels compared to the control group(P＜0.05).The shoulder range of motion increased significantly in both groups,with the observation group exhibiting greater improvement(P＜0.05).There was no statistical difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion:Opposing needling combined with shoulder three-needle acupuncture can effectively alleviate pain,reduce inflammation,and improve shoulder joint function in patients with frozen shoulder of the Qi stagnation and blood stasis type,with a favorable safety profile.关键词
