Role of aberrant intercellular communication in preeclampsia pathogenesis

Abstract
Preeclampsia(PE)is a pregnancy-specific multisystem disorder with a global incidence of approximately 2%to 8%,remaining a leading cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality.The characteristic pathological PE features include placental ischemia,endothelial dysfunction,and systemic inflammation.However,prevailing hypotheses,such as abnormal trophoblast invasion and immune dysregulation,do not fully account for PE-related clinical heterogeneity and multiorgan involvement.Recently,intercellular communication network disruption has become increasingly recognized as a central driving mechanism of pathophysiological PE progres-sion.In this study,we systematically summarized the aberrant mechanisms of various intercellular communication modes in PE,including paracrine signaling,extracellular vesicles,gap junctions,and immunological synapses.Moreover,we discussed emerging diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for targeting these pathways.In this study,we aimed to provide new perspectives for elucidating PE pathogenesis and for developing precise interventions.关键词
