LI Zhigang's Experience in Acupuncture Treatment for Sequelae of Ischemic Stroke

Abstract
Objective:Professor LI Zhigang's experience in treating sequelae of ischemic stroke emphasizes that the core pathological site lies in the brain,closely related to Du Meridian.Pathogenesis involves endogenous wind stirring,blood stasis obstructing the cerebral collaterals,leading to depletion of the sea of marrow and malnourishment of the brain-spirit.The disease nature is characterized by deficiency in origin and excess in manifestation.Therefore,acupuncture treatment should focus on invigorating blood circulation,dredging the meridians,regulating the spirit,and employing a combined strategy of tonifying deficiency and reducing excess.In practice,professor LI integrates the strengths of neck-needling therapy,Jin's three-needle therapy,and his own innovative'Tongdu Qishen'(unblocking Du Meridian and arousing spirit)method,supplemented with techniques to soothe Liver and strengthen Spleen for overall regulation.This combined approach effectively promotes blood circulation,resolves stasis,unblocks Du Meridian,and revives the spirit,resulting in significant symptom relief and remarkable clinical efficacy.关键词
