Abstract
Objective To investigate the application of an integrated Joanna Briggs Institute Evidence-Based Healthcare Center(JBI)evidence-based nursing system in the management of children with severe viral meningitis and its impact on health outcomes. Methods A convenience sampling method was used to select 80 children with severe viral meningitis admitted to Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center,Guangzhou Medical University from June 2022 to June 2024.A random number table was used to assign them to either an observation group(40 cases)or a control group(40 cases). Both groups received routine treatment and nursing, while the observation group additionally received nursing integrated with the JBI evidence-based nursing system. The symptom improvement time and treatment effects were compared between the two groups, and the limb function and health outcomes of children were evaluated at 6 months after discharge. Results The improvement time of conscious disturbance,convulsions,headache/vomiting,and fever in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).After 7 days of treatment, the overall effective rate of the observation group was 95.00%,which was higher than the 80.00%of the control group(P<0.05).The Fugl-Meyer Assessment(FMA)scores of both groups at 6 months after discharge increased compared with admission(P<0.05),and the observation group showed higher scores than the control group(P<0.05).At 6 months after discharge, the favourable health outcome rate of the observation group was 87.50%,which was higher than the 67.50%of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of the nursing strategy of integrated JBI evidence-based nursing system can improve the treatment efficacy of children with severe viral meningitis, shorten the symptom recovery time, and promote the recovery of limb motor function while improving clinical efficacy, achieving improved health outcomes.关键词
