Evaluation of safety,efficacy and economy of proprietary Chinese medicines in the treatment of chronic cholecystitis

Abstract
Objective:To conduct a comprehensive clinical evaluation of Chinese patent medicines for chronic cholecystitis,with the aim of providing evidence for clinical drug selection and informing decision-making by health authorities.Methods:A net-work meta-analysis was performed to compare the safety and efficacy of various Chinese patent medicines in treating chronic chole-cystitis.Based on the efficacy outcomes,a cost-effectiveness analysis was conducted to evaluate their economic value.A cost-minimi-zation analysis was employed when no significant difference in efficacy was found.Results:In terms of efficacy,while no significant differences were detected among the various Chinese patent medicines themselves across multiple outcome measures,they collec-tively demonstrated superior effectiveness when compared with conventional Western medicine.Regarding safety,all Chinese patent medicines were associated with fewer adverse events than conventional Western medicine,with no statistically significant differences observed among them.The economic evaluation revealed substantial cost variation,with Jindan Tablets being the least expensive(CNY 12.74)and Jigucao Capsules the most costly(CNY 100.80).The products ranked in ascending order of cost were:Jindan Tablets<Xiaoyan Lidan Tablets<Danshu Capsules<Danning Tablets<Dankang Capsules<Jigucao Capsules.Conclusion:The findings of this study collectively demonstrate that the evaluated Chinese patent medicines are widely applicable,effective,and safe in the clinical management of chronic cholecystitis,indicating their considerable therapeutic value.These agents present viable treatment options,the selection of which can be guided by patient economic circumstances.关键词
