Abstract
Objective:To observe the effects of point application combined with abdominal Tuina(Chinese therapeutic massage)on epigastric pain due to deficient cold of spleen and stomach.
Methods:A total of 182 patients with epigastric pain due to deficient cold of spleen and stomach were randomly divided into a control group and a combined group using the random number table method, with 91 cases in each group. Both groups received identical standard interventions.Patients in the control group were treated with abdominal Tuina therapy, while patients in the combined group were treated with point application therapy in addition to the intervention in the control group. The clinical efficacy was compared, and changes in the visual analog scale(VAS),quality of life(QOL),traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)symptom score, serum motilin(MTL),gastrin(GAS),and epidermal growth factor(EGF),and serum inflammatory factors[interleukin(IL)-4 and IL-6]were observed after 4 weeks of treatment.
Results:After 4 weeks of treatment, the total effective rate of the combined group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The VAS score, serum IL-4 and IL-6 levels, and TCM symptom score decreased in both groups(P<0.05)and were lower in the combined group than in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of MTL,GAS,and EGF,and QOL score increased in both groups(P<0.05)and were higher in the combined group than in the control group(P<0.05).
Conclusion:In addition to standard interventions, the efficacy of abdominal Tuina combined with point application in the treatment of epigastric pain due to deficient cold of spleen and stomach is better than that of abdominal Tuina alone;this combined method is more effective in alleviating pain and clinical symptoms, reducing serum inflammatory factor levels, and regulating gastrointestinal hormones.关键词
