Testing and Analysis of Noise Reduction Effects of Enclosed Noise Barriers Installed on Urban Main Road Elevated Bridge Sections
摘要
Abstract
To mitigate the impact of road traffic noise on nearby residents, enclosed noise barriers are increasingly ad-opted in urban elevated roadways. However, research on their actual noise reduction effects during operation remains limit-ed.With the enclosed noise barrier on an elevated bridge section of a major urban road in Guangzhou as the project, traffic noise sources, the noises at the receiver points at varying distances from the barrier, and at the control points without a barri-er were tested and measured. The acoustic characteristics, including sound pressure level spectra, sound field distribution, noise attenuation patterns, and barrier insertion loss, were analyzed and discussed. The results indicate that the reverberation effect caused by multiple reflections amplifies the noise inside the enclosed noise barriers. The noise increase inside the barri-er is primarily concentrated in the mid-to-high-frequency range. Both fully and partially enclosed noise barriers effectively reduce noise within a 42-meter range from the barrier. At a distance of 17 meters from the noise barriers, the average inser-tion losses for fully and semi-enclosed barriers are 20.8 dB and 11.9 dB,respectively. At a distance of 42 meters from the bar-rier,the average insertion losses for fully and semi-enclosed barriers are 21.7 dB and 12.4 dB respectively. The insertion loss of the sound barriers increases with the increase of frequency of the noise, which suggests that the noise barriers can effec-tively attenuate mid-to-high-frequency noises.关键词
