Exploring the application of the five tones in individuals with five-minds constitutional types based on the constitution theory of Huangdi Neijing

Abstract
The five minds are rooted in the five zang viscera.The corresponding emotions are normally present when the five zang viscera function normally.However,an extreme excess of the five minds can conversely damage their respective zang viscera,and in severe cases,affect other zang viscera and exacerbate constitutional bias.Drawing on the constitutional classification framework of the five-states constitutional types and five-phases constitutional types from Huangdi Nejing,this article proposes an emotion-based constitutional identification method.This method categorizes human constitution into five types:"anger-mind,""joy-mind,""thought-mind,""grief-mind,"and"fear-mind"types,and the corresponding populations are collectively referred to as the"individuals with five-minds constitutional types."First,this paper explores the typical emotional manifestations of the individuals with five-minds constitutional types and the effect of emotional bias on constitution.Second,it investigates the application of the five tones in different constitutional types based on the constitutional characteristics,emotional susceptibilities,disease predispositions,vulnerable zang fu viscera,and treatment principles of the individuals with five-minds constitutional types,thereby establishing a framework for regulating the individuals with five-minds constitutional types using the five tones.The therapeutic goal of using emotion to overcome emotion is achieved by identifying the dominant emotion through emotional syndrome differentiation and selecting the corresponding overcoming tone based on the principle of mutual overcoming of the five minds.This paper strengthens the theoretical basis for using the five tones to treat emotional disorders and regulate constitutional biases,thereby laying a theoretical foundation for the emotional syndrome differentiation of constitution.关键词
