Abstract

The distribution of carbon oxidation rate in coal-fired industrial boilers is relatively scattered,and conducting research on its distribution and influencing factors is of great signif-icance for improving the quantification level of carbon emissions.Based on a large number of data samples of carbon oxidation rate in coal-fired industrial boilers,the effects of boiler ca-pacity and load,combustion mode,and coal type on carbon oxidation rate are analyzed.A Back-Propagation(BP)neural network model is used to predict the carbon oxidation rate.The results show that the carbon oxidation rate of coal-fired industrial boilers is mainly dis-tributed between 82%and 100%,with an average value of 91.60%.As the rated capacity in-creases,the distribution of carbon oxidation rate tends to be concentrated and overall shows an upward trend.For different combustion modes,chamber combustion has the highest car-bon oxidation rate,while stratified combustion has the lowest.Lignite and bituminous coal,which have high volatile content,have relatively high carbon oxidation rates.There is a sig-nificant positive correlation between boiler thermal efficiency and carbon oxidation rate.The carbon oxidation rate and heat loss due to mechanical incomplete combustion can be one-to-one corresponded by the carbon content per unit heat value.The carbon oxidation rate of coal-fired industrial boilers can be accurately predicted by parameters such as boiler capacity,load and as received low calorific value.
