The Current Situation and Optimization Strategies for Faculty Development in New Vocational Undergraduate Institutions

Abstract
China's vocational undergraduate education is experiencing rapid development.To meet the development requirements of vocational education in the new era,there is an urgent need to build a high-quality faculty in vocational undergraduate institutions.Based on an analysis of faculty development at 36 newly established vocational undergraduate institutions in 2025,this study reveals that several challenges persist in the construction of faculty teams in China's vocational undergraduate education system.These include an imbalance in both the quantity and quality of faculty supply,insufficient teacher competency,ineffective teamwork mechanisms,and lagging reforms in personnel management.To address these issues,the study proposes optimization strategies such as enhancing the recruitment and cultivation of high-level talents,strengthening the capacity building of dual-qualified teachers,fostering high-level teaching innovation teams,and improving incentive mechanisms for teacher development.These measures aim to promote the construction of a high-quality faculty in vocational undergraduate institutions,thereby improving the overall quality of vocational undergraduate education.关键词
