Effects of Different Feeding Methods on Production Performance,Egg Quality and Nutrient Content of Tibetan Chickens

Abstract
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of two different feeding methods on the production performance,egg quality,and nutrient content of Tibetan chickens.A total of 2 600 Tibetan hens(125-day-old)were randomly and evenly allocated to two poultry houses(1 300 chickens per house).One group was fed with a traditional diet(free-range+corn-soybean meal diet),while the other group was fed with an enhanced diet(the traditional diet supplemented with 10 g of Tenebrio molitor larvae and 30 g of fresh shredded carrots per day).The hens were fed with different diets for 239 days.The results showed as follows:① compared with the traditional feeding method,the survival rate of laying hens under the high-efficiency feeding method was significantly increased by 1.8%(P<0.05),and the egg production rate was increased by 29.5%(P<0.05).② The yolk color and albumen height of the eggs increased signifi-cantly(P<0.05),while average egg weight decreased significantly(P<0.05).③ The content of lutein and arachidonic acid in eggs was significantly increased(P<0.05).It is concluded that the enhanced feeding method can effectively improve production performance,egg quality and nutrient composition of Tibetan chickens.关键词
