Abstract
Objective:The study aimed to investigate the impact of parent-child alienation on mobile phone depen-dence among left behind middle school students in rural areas,as well as the chain mediating role of perceived social sup-port and social interest.Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted on 905 rural middle school students in Hubei Province,including 588 left behind middle school students,using the adolescent parent-child alienation questionnaire,per-ceived social support scale,social interest scale,and adolescent mobile phone dependence self assessment questionnaire.Results:(1)Left behind middle school students had significantly higher scores in parent-child alienation and mobile phone dependence than non left behind middle school students,while their scores in perceived social support and social in-terest were significantly lower than those of non left behind middle school students.(2)Correlation analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between parent-child alienation,perceived social support,social interest,and mobile phone dependence;(3)The perceived social support and social interest played a chain mediated role in parent-child alien-ation and mobile phone dependence.Conclusion:Parent-child alienation not only directly affected mobile phone depen-dence,but also affected mobile phone dependence through perceived social support and social interest.关键词
