摘要
Abstract
Sunken upper eyelid is frequently associated with blepharoptosis and multiple eyelid folds,presenting an aged and fatigued appearance that affects periorbital aesthetics.This article reviews the domestic and international studies on the correction of sunken upper eyelid and classifies its etiologies into true volume deficiency of the upper eyelid and pseudo-volume deficiency caused by the abnormal structure and malposition of fat tissue in the upper eyelid.This article also summarizes the treatment strategies of the sunken upper eyelid,as well as the indications,advantages,disadvantages,and complications of different treatment modalities.An etiology-driven,patient-specific approach is advocated to optimize aesthetic and functional outcomes in the correction of sunken upper eyelid deformity.关键词
