Construction of Health Assessment Indicators for Rivers in Mountainous Areas of Guizhou

Abstract
River health assessment can pinpoint specific issues and identify their underlying causes,thereby providing precise direction for conservation and management.Based on national and Guizhou Province guidelines for river and lake health assessment,a health evaluation index system for mountainous rivers in Guizhou was established,using the main stream of the Chishui River as a case study.The system comprised four criterion layers—river basin,water,biology,and social service functions—and 11 indicator layers,with the Index of Biological Integrity(IBI)as the primary evaluation method.Results showed that the main stream of the Chishui River received a comprehensive assigned score of 87.68,classifying it as a Class II river in a healthy state.The findings provided theoretical support for the management of the Chishui River main stream.关键词
