Abstract

Based on the data fusion technology of DMSP/OLS and NPP/VIIRS night-time light data,a panel database of carbon emissions covering 285 prefecture-level cities was retrieved and constructed,and the spatiotemporal coupling mechanism between urban construction land use efficiency and carbon emissions was systematically revealed.By integrating the undesirable-output super-efficiency SBM model,non-parametric kernel density estimation and bivariate spatial autocorrelation analysis methods,the results showed that the national carbon emissions were demonstrated to exhibit a slow growth trend during 2000-2020,while the construction land use efficiency presented a spatial differentiation pattern in the order of West(0.823)>Northeast(0.718)>East(0.694)>Central China(0.681).The global spatial autocorrelation test showed that a significant negative correlation existed between the two variables.The local correlation patterns were dominated by the L-L type(low-efficiency&low-carbon),H-L type(high-efficiency&low-carbon)and L-H type(low-efficiency&high-carbon),while the proportion of H-H type(high-efficiency&high-carbon)agglomeration areas accounted for less than 12%.On this basis,spatial heterogeneity regulation strategies were proposed:the western region should further enhance its green energy hub function and expand the radiation scope of clean energy relying on inter-regional power trading.The eastern region needed to establish an industrial-energy collaborative optimization mechanism and reduce the energy consumption intensity per unit land area through technological innovation;the northeast and central regions ought to build a capacity replacement-construction land use efficiency linkage system and implement carbon efficiency threshold control of land use in the process of undertaking industrial transfer.The research findings provided a new analytical dimension and policy tool for coordinating territorial spatial development and low-carbon transition goals.
