Abstract

Nature education serves as a vital bridge connecting humanity with nature and cultivating ecological values.The United States,as one of early countries to develop nature education,has established a mature policy framework that effectively enhances environmental literacy nationwide.This study examines key U.S.policies on nature education,with a focus on the policy system established around Every Child Outdoors Act,and analyses its underlying logic,implementation mechanisms,and tangible outcomes.The findings reveal that the underlying logic of natural education policies manifests as a dynamic coupling of historical ecological crises and educational reforms,reflects an intersectional integration of contemporary environmental awareness and social equity concerns,and demonstrates a synergistic alignment with theoretical frameworks of environmental justice and ecological literacy.Its implementation leverages core programs as scaffolding,multi-stakeholder collaboration as the driving force,and funding security as the foundation,achieving significant progress in accessibility to nature education,enhancing literacy among participants,and empowering communities through localised engagement.In view of China's current nature education landscape,this study proposes actionable recommendations including systematic system framework establishment,resources barrier breakthrough,diversified collaboration scheme building,education performance enhancement and evaluation assurance system improvement,with an aim to inform the formulation and execution of nature education policies in China.
