Design and implementation of a wideband frequency-dependent complex impedance matching network based on Chebyshev function

Abstract
Wideband impedance matching networks serve as a critical circuit to enhance the performance of key components,e.g.power amplifiers and antennas,in wireless communication and radar systems.The core design challenge lies in addressing the wideband frequency-dependent complex impedance matching at input/output ports.To overcome the current lack of universal design methodologies for wideband frequency-variant complex impedance matching,this paper proposes a matching network based on a series microstrip line and shunt stub structure.By selecting critical frequencies from the Chebyshev function's poles and maximum return loss points,we establish an analytical method for Chebyshev response under frequency-variant complex impedance,enabling closed-form design of broadband matching networks.To validate the proposed method,a wideband matching circuit is designed for an electrically small conical antenna with unmatched|S11|approaching 0 dB in certain bands and indicating total reflection applied in an electric network detection equipment.Measurement results demonstrate that within the 0.5-1.5 GHz operating band,the matching circuit loaded with this antenna achieves return loss better than-10 dB,and with a relative bandwidth of 100%.This work provides a solution to frequency-dependent complex impedance matching in wideband systems.关键词
