摘要

Abstract

This paper provides a comprehensive review of the application of thickeners in patients with dysphagia.It encompasses an overview of dysphagia and thickeners,and elaborates on the applications of thickeners in evaluating swallowing function,promoting swallowing function rehabilitation,reducing the risk of aspiration,and improving nutritional status.Meanwhile,it analyzes potential issues that may arise during their application.Furthermore,the paper discusses thickeners derived from Chinese medicine of food-medicine homology,aiming to offer a reference for the precise clinical application of thickeners.Addressing the shortcomings of existing chemical thickeners,such as poor palatability and single functionality,this paper proposes experimental design and theoretical support for developing thickeners from Chinese medicine of food-medicine homology that combine nutritional supplementation with pharmacological activities.It is important to note that current research on the efficacy,stability,and safety of these Chinese medicine thickeners remains insufficient,urgently requiring validation and refinement through rigorous clinical trials and fundamental studies.
