摘要

Abstract

The"four qi and five flavors"inherent in foods constitute the foundation for the formation and development of dietary therapy theory in Chinese medicine.From the pre-Qin period to the Republic of China period,dietary therapy in Chinese medicine gradually developed into a stable and instructive theoretical system,which has continued to the present day.The term"medicine and food share the same origin"was proposed by scholars of the Republic of China period;at that time,"origin"referred to the point of origin,meaning that both foods and medicines were discoveries made by early ancestors driven by instinct.Since the Reform and Opening-up,with the rapid development of the health products industry,traditional dietary therapy concepts have been further integrated;accordingly,the State introduced relevant policies to delineate the respective scopes of"medicine"and"food".In addition,with the widespread dissemination of popular science publications,public understanding of"food-medicine homology"has gradually evolved into the view that a given substance can be used as both a medicine and a food,namely"food-medicine dual-use"as referenced in regulations.
