AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVE SERVICES AND TECHNOLOGY COGNITION ON ADOPTION LEVEL OF FARMLAND PROTECTION TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract
Against the background of low per capita cropland,high quality cropland and reserve cropland in China,investigating how agricultural productive services(APS)influence farmers'adoption of farmland conservation technologies holds critical significance for safeguarding food security.Utilizing the survey data from 756 wheat farmers in the Huanghuaihai Plain and applying the probit model,this study examined the impact and mechanisms of APS on farmers'adoption of farmland conservation technologies,with robustness and endogeneity checks conducted.The results showed that:(1)APS significantly promoted farmers'adoption of farmland conservation technologies;(2)APS enhanced adoption by improving farmers'technical cognition,specifically through elevating their understanding of the technologies'intrinsic value and economic benefits;(3)The positive effect of APS was more pronounced among farmers with lower land fragmentation and higher aging levels of household agricultural labor.On this basis,efforts should be intensified to foster agricultural productive service organizations,with a focus on supporting those that can provide farmland conservation technologies.And it is essential to strengthen the promotion of farmland conservation technologies,encourage agricultural productive service organizations to enhance communication with farmers,and raise farmers'awareness of such technologies.In addition,integrated governance of land fragmentation should be reinforced to realize large-scale service-oriented operations.关键词
