Treatment of Diabetes Related Dry Eye from Lung and Spleen based on the Theory of Coexistence of Dryness and Dampness
摘要
Abstract
Dry eye is associated with multiple factors,with diabetes being one of the high-risk factors that has gradually gained clinical attention.Diabetes related dry eye can be categorized under the comorbidity scope of Xiaoke and Baisezheng.Its pathogenesis is primarily attributed to lung and spleen,and is closely related to the pathogenic factors of dryness and dampness.Dryness and dampness can transform into and co-exist with each other,therefore they often act together to cause disease when damaging these two viscera.Dryness and dampness impair the normal physiological functions of lung and spleen,leading to the endogenous development of Xiaoke,which over time results in malnourishment of the eyeball and the onset of dry eye.Consequently,treating diabetes related dry eye requires"treating both dryness and dampness concurrently,and regulating and tonifying lung and spleen".If dryness is the main pathogenic factor accompanied by dampness,it mainly damages lung.The treatment should aim to clear dryness and moisten lung,remove dampness and protect fluids.Clinically,formulas such as Erdong Xiaoke Formula are often used.If dampness is the main pathogenic factor accompanied by dryness,it mainly damages spleen.The treatment should aim to boost Qi and eliminate dampness,fortify spleen and moisten lung.Modified Wendan Decoction is commonly applied clinically.If both lung and spleen are simultaneously affected by dryness and dampness,formulas like Gegen Qinlian Decoction or Sanren Decoction can be used to regulate both lung and spleen and eliminate dryness and dampness together.By exploring the treatment of diabetes related dry eye from lung and spleen based on the theory of"coexistence of dryness and dampness",we hope to provide new insights for clinical practice.关键词
