A preliminary survey on the awareness of drug-induced liver injury among medical staff and patients
摘要
Abstract
Objective To investigate the awareness of drug-induced liver injury(DILI)among medical staff and patients. Methods Medical professionals from Hangzhou Red Cross Hospital and general patients who visited Hangzhou Red Cross Hospital from February 2022 to December 2023 were enrolled as study subjects, they were divided into three groups:physicians(n=97),nurses(n=110),and patients(n=216).A self-designed questionnaire by the research team was used to assess the awareness of DILI among physicians and nurses and patients. Results 75.2%of the respondents acknowledged that medications can cause liver injury, with physicians and nurses demonstrating significantly higher awareness than patients.58.4%of the respondents were aware that DILI can lead to death, and physicians and nurses exhibited markedly higher awareness than patients.Regarding medication safety behaviors,83.7%of the respondents would proactively review drug package inserts.5.2%of the respondents had a history of DILI.Conclusion There is a significant gap in the understanding of drug-induced hepatotoxicity among medical professionals, particularly regarding the hepatotoxicity associated with traditional Chinese herbal medicines and health supplements.关键词
