Effects of UAV spray parameters on pesticide deposition on Zanthoxylum bungeanum leaves and aphid control efficacy

Abstract
To enhance the effectiveness of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)application for aphid control on Zanthoxylum bungeanum,the effects of flight height(3.0-5.0 m),flight speed(2-6 m/s),and spray flow rate(13.5-21.6 L/min)on pesticide droplet coverage density,deposition and distribution unifor-mity were systematically evaluated using water-sensitive paper sampling.Field experiments were also conducted to compare the control efficacy of UAV spraying with that of a knapsack manual sprayer against the aphids.Results showed that flight height,flight speed,and flow rate significantly influenced droplet coverage density and deposition,while flight speed and flow rate significantly affected droplet uniformity.Optimal droplet deposition characteristics were achieved when the UAV operated at a flight height of 3 m,a flight speed of 2 m/s,and a flow rate of 18.0 L/min.Under these optimized parameters,UAV application achieved an aphid control efficacy of 84.95%at 7 days after treatment,which was sig-nificantly higher by 10.60%compared with the knapsack manual spraying treatment.The findings indi-cate that the optimized UAV spraying parameters identified in this study can be applied for precise field control of Zanthoxylum bungeanum aphids.关键词
