Constructing an Independent Knowledge System for Vocational Education with Chinese Characteristics:Developments and Directions

Abstract
The construction of independent knowledge system for vocational education in China hinges on the creation of indigenous signature concepts grounded in Chinese practice.Focusing on six core themes—the"Double High Plan",integration of industry and education,undergraduate vocational education,key school-running capabilities,digital transformation,and internationalization—this study employs thematic analysis to systematically examine the genesis and evolution of signature concepts in vocational education research during 2022 to 2024 from the perspective of knowledge production modes.The findings reveal that signature concepts are evolving from policy discourses to academic conceptions,from sporadic emergence to clustered growth,and from domestic self-consistency to international dialogue.Concurrently,researches as a whole exhibits shifts from policy interpretation to theoretical construction,from fragmented importation to systematic originality,and from domestic self sufficiency to global engagement.Future research must advance from macro level institutional descriptions to breakthroughs in micro level instructional theory,from single disciplinary transplantation to complex problem oriented interdisciplinary integration,and from summarizing local experiences to generating general theories—thereby facilitating the transition of vocational pedagogy from a"field of study"to a"mature discipline"within an independent knowledge system.关键词
