Progress on the Immune Evasion Mechanisms of Giardia duodenalis
摘要
Abstract
Giardia duodenalis is an important zoonotic parasitic protozoan with global prevalence.It induces giardiasis in hosts,manifesting symptoms such as diarrhea,nausea,vomiting,and weight loss,and causes severe harm to the human health and livestock industry.G.duodenalis infections are characterized by chro-nicity and recurrence,and conventional treatments often fail to achieve complete eradication while being susceptible to relapse.This phenomenon is closely associated with the parasite immune evasion mecha-nisms.The immune evasion mechanism of G.duodenalis is complex and diverse,and the common ones in-clude antigen variants to evade immune recognition,regulate the host immune system,suppress host im-munity by secretions,and isolate colonization sites,etc.In-depth investigation of the immune escape mecha-nism of G.duodenalis is of great significance for the prevention and treatment of giardiasis.This paper re-views research progress on the immune evasion mechanisms of G.duodenalis,aiming to propose novel strategies for the control and prevention of giardiasis.关键词
